-contributions to the growth of medieval towns: - trade - food more plentiful
- charter gave rights to townspeople allowing them to govern themselves

-guilds were people in the same craft or trade
- steps to become a guild: - apprentice - apprentice must create masterpiece - becomes master after making masterpiece
-Craft guilds: - blacksmith -baker -stonemasons
-guilds help when families are sick ( food and money)

-If an outbreak of disese ocurred people blamed the Jews

-some ways for deciding guilt an innocence was:
-they threw them into a well, if they floated they were guilty because they were "rejected by the water"
-if they sunk they were innocent
also they put their hand in boling water if the burn didnt heal in a certain amount of time they were guilty
-some ways criminals were punished were:
-put you into stocks
-exucution
-later in the 12th century they made something called common law
